Spotlight on Vodafone’s radical flexible working initiative for its offices, delivered in partnership with Fourfront Group.
Fourfront Group’s design & fit-out company Area worked with Vodafone on a phased project programme across multiple Vodafone offices, including Waterside House, Thames House and Brook House in Bracknell and Smale House in London.
The projects support Vodafone’s ‘Better Ways of Working’ initiative, which pioneers a flexible working ethos. By breaking down hierarchical barriers and removing fixed desks and personal offices, the programme fundamentally challenges how people interact and collaborate by ensuring that no one has their own office. All staff, including the leadership team and chief executive, can take their laptops to work in any one of a number of workspaces.
The project required close collaboration with Vodafone’s facilities and ambassadors teams, project manager Aecom, cost management specialist MESH and design consultancy Platform, to come up with a phased programme that did not interrupt day-to-day operations.
