Spotlight on Summertown’s delivery of industrial group Thyssenkrupp’s desire for a minimalist, functional Dubai workplace.
Thyssenkrupp is a global diversified industrial group operating in components technology, elevator technology, industrial solutions, materials services and steel. When it decided to consolidate all its business units into one new Dubai location, it envisaged an office with a minimalist, functional design that also reflected the group’s brand ethos.
During the pre-contract consultation phase, Summertown assessed the site to identify what materials and existing fixtures and fittings could be reused, including glass walls and wooden doors. This exercise significantly reduced the environmental impact of the project and saved the client over AED 500,000. In partnership with designer George Kahler and project managers JLL, Summertown delivered a fresh, no-nonsense office that utilises natural light.
