Spotlight on Space Matrix’s scheme for Microsoft’s Taipei office, embodying the technology giant’s new design thinking.
Microsoft wanted its office in Taipei to encapsulate its new transformative design thinking, which humanises technology and innovation. Space Matrix created an environment that aligns the workplace with new ways of working, while drawing on the ‘Formosa’ (beautiful island) culture and heritage.
The Microsoft team had worked out of the same office for a decade and had grown accustomed to the existing infrastructure. The new guidelines replace the old traditional environment with a space crafted to fit each team’s functional requirements and accommodate future growth.
Space Matrix created a spatial experience unique to Taipei, engaging with the stakeholders at every step to ensure the solution aligns with Microsoft’s aspirations.
